GSI Qatar offers a variety of services and programs to help our students succeed.

New Student and Registration Support

We understand that the registration process can be confusing and overwhelming. Our staff is here to help! We offer support services for new students and program planning to ensure that you are registered for the right classes and on track to graduate.

Research shows that a student’s experience during their first year of college greatly influences their success in reaching their academic goals.

New Students Services

Placement Testing Support

We offer placement testing support to help students assess their skills in order to place them into the appropriate level classes.

Welcome Ambassadors

Our Welcome Ambassadors are upper-level students who have been specially trained to help new students adjust to college life. They can answer your questions about campus life, connect you with resources, and help you get involved in student organizations and activities.

Orientation

All new students are required to attend our Orientation program. During Orientation, you will learn about university policies and procedures, and meet with the student success team.

First-Year Support Counselling

Our First-Year Support Counselors are here to help you adjust to college life and answer any questions you may have.

Group Activities and Events

New students are encouraged to participate in our activities and events for new students. These activities are a great way to meet other new students and learn about GSI Qatar.

Academic Advising

Our team is here to help you succeed! They will work with you to ensure that you are taking the right classes, help you plan your schedule, and connect you with campus resources.

Scholarships

We know that financing your education is important. We offer different types of partial and full scholarships.

Career Services

A career counselor can help students choose the right degree by exploring their strengths and interests. They are here to help guide you along the path of your choosing. A career advisor can help you find jobs in your field, find part-time or summer work, prepare for interviews, and build your resume and LinkedIn profile.

College Work-Study Programs

Our College Work-Study Program provides students with the opportunity to work on campus and earn money to help pay for their education.

Internships Within GSI

Our internship program provides students with the opportunity to work in a professional environment and gain experience in their field of study.

Internships Outside of GSI

We also offer internships with local businesses and organizations. These internships provide students with the opportunity to gain experience in their field of study and explore different career options.

Student Success Coaches

Our Student Success Coaches (SSC) are here to help you succeed! They will work with you one-on-one to develop a success plan, connect you with campus resources, and help you overcome any challenges you may face.

Student Success Coaches will attend classes with students to support the instructor and offer help to the students.
Student Success Coaches offer Sunday review sessions and individual or small group tutoring.
In addition, The Success Center offers regular workshops to provide students with the life skills, study skills, and soft skills they need for success.

Transfer Services

We support students who want to transfer to our partner universities and also support our students who decide to transfer to other universities.

Learning & Life Skills

We work with our students to help them develop soft and life skills to help them succeed in their careers and lives.
